Both sides of the main workshop have overhead cranes running into the fabrication bays and the full length of the stock and cutting areas. These areas are divided into cutting, drilling, assembly and welding zones. A total a 6 number 5 Tonne cranes allow full use of all the workshop space with minimum disruption to all the various projects being undertaken.

At the end of the stock area is the purpose built paint shop and shot blasting area. This has an automated shot blasting machine for the larger sections of steel that are often blasted and primed before assembly in the workshops. A blasting booth caters for the items that cannot be accommodated by the machine. Another separate booth has hot metal spraying facilities. Much effort is spent ensuring these operations are as environmentally friendly as possible with the emphasis being on the use of water based and single coat high build paint systems.

The automated shot blast machine

PIC15small.jpg (38823 bytes)i.This workshop was purpose built for the fabrication and assembly of aluminium and stainless steel. The clean environment stops contamination from mild steel which could affect the high finish quality required on this type of work. At one end is the stainless steel polishing shop that has manual and machine polishing facilities.

The balustrade and stair workshop. Large steel benches allow the necessary setting-out and assembly of the many types of metalwork that are produced here. An overhead crane allows the larger items to be easily moved for welding and to the Paintshop. Milling, cutting and drilling facilities are all available in this area.
